IBF Forum at
YahooGroups
is intended to facilitate discussion of issues relating to the
infant, but exciting area of Islamic finance - arising out of a
chemistry between the rich classical framework of Islamic law and
the ever changing world of modern business and finance. Besides
highlighting and seeking solutions to the issues through moderated
discussions and deliberations, the Forum also seeks to serve as a
medium for dissemination of relevant information among the community
of students, researchers, bankers and finance professionals
interested in this discipline.
The Forum has the following objectives:

information about the infant but exciting and fast changing Islamic
banking and finance industry;
to promote discussions regarding various theoretical issues of
significance arising out of a chemistry between the rich classical
framework of Islamic law and the world of modern finance;
to raise practical issues confronting finance professionals which
require further deliberation, discussion and decision by scholars of
Islamic law;
to present various such decisions and conclusions arrived at by Shariah scholars which are of relevance for the bankers and finance
professionals;
to assess the functioning and performance of various Islamic
organizations for the benefit of the Islamic investor and depositor
community;
